Job description

Prudential Regulation Policy Specialist - Investment Banking - Analyst Level - up to £70,000

New opportunity in Reg Policy at Analyst level, working for an Investment Bank with a broad product range across commodities, derivatives, FX and fixed income. This is a newly created role which will support the Policy director in the interpretation, implementation and controls around new rules from the regulator.

Highly visible role which will work closely with stakeholders across Prudential Reporting, Treasury, Capital Management and wider Finance. This role would be very well suited to someone coming from a consulting background where you have worked with Banks on s166 programmes or regulation interpretation. Equally well suited to someone who has previously worked for the regulator and looking to make a move to industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and update policies for regulatory requirements.
  • Analyse and communicate updates from global regulators, including Basel 3.1 revisions.
  • Assess and coordinate the impact of new regulatory updates.
  • Inform stakeholders and management of regulatory changes.
  • Implement system changes with the Change and Control team.
  • Assist in producing governance documents (Pillar 3 Disclosures, ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plans).
  • Evaluate capital, liquidity, and exposure implications of new transactions.
  • Review and challenge data and processes for regulatory reporting.
  • Enhance controls in reporting processes.
  • Ensure accurate implementation and documentation of regulatory policies.
  • Maintain key governance and process documentation.
  • Prepare briefings and presentations for senior management.
  • Collaborate with front office, risk, and finance teams on new product impacts.
  • Provide insights for capital planning, stress testing, and budgeting.
  • Contribute to Annual Financial Statements, Pillar 3, ICAAP, and ILAAP documents.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in prudential regulation consulting or a regulatory policy-focused role.
  • Strong understanding of capital, liquidity, and large exposures regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage regulatory changes and implementation effectively.
