Regulatory Policy VP - Investment Banking - City of London

Company Overview:

A leading international Investment Banking group with operations in more than 20 countries.

Department Overview:
This role will sit in a centralised team within Finance, focused on Regulatory, Liquidity, and Accounting policy. The team is expanding to undertake a significant policy review and documentation exercise in response to evolving regulatory changes in Banking.

Role Overview:
As a senior member of the Regulatory Policy team, you will play a key role in developing and documenting evolving regulatory requirements. The primary focus of this role will be on Capital, RWA, and Leverage ratio policy issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Documenting and reviewing policies for existing and new regulatory requirements
  • Analysing and communicating new regulatory publications from various regulators
  • Coordinating impact assessments of regulatory updates
  • Providing guidance on regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders
  • Developing training materials on prudential capital regulatory topics
  • Liaising with industry bodies and stakeholders
  • Providing technical research on accounting and liquidity policy matters
  • Participating in ad hoc Finance initiatives and projects

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Detailed technical understanding of UK/EU Prudential Regulatory topics including Basel 3.1 and CRR/CRD
  • Regulatory policy or reporting experience in investment banking or relevant fields
  • Knowledge of wholesale/investment banking products
  • Strong communication, research, and policy writing skills
  • An accountancy or financial qualification (desired but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently with accuracy and a structured approach
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing regulatory rules
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
