SAP Delivery Director

£120,000 - £130,000

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provides overall delivery leadership for country deployment, working with all project stakeholders, delivery teams and 3rd parties
  • Leads deployment project scope and timelines providing appropriate controls and monitoring to ensure delivery to agreed time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Manages System Integrator day-to-day relationships in relation of delivery.
  • Leads the resolution of conflicts between projects, functions and Core / Country - always putting what is best for the business as a whole first
  • Leads and co-ordinates D&TS project team members to deliver to plan and with the right quality. Lead, develop, coach and inspire the teams contributing to the delivery of the programme. Allocates resources within agreed Programme Budget
  • Work with the wider transformation team to continuously improve good practice methodologies, processes and ways of working
  • Ensures communication and coordination with all leadership and sponsors. Contributes to agenda and attends relevant Governance meetings providing reporting on delivery progress of delivery activities
  • Manage escalations necessary to ensure solution integrity and efficiency, and ensure senior management is aware of significant issues or opportunities
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the solution and its strategic direction in line with roadmap and release schedules

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • 10+ years ERP implementation experience primarily focussed on financial processes using SAP solutions.
  • Experience of managing IT deliverables of large, complex transformation programs/projects (typically more than $20M in value and 18 months in duration) with personal accountability for delivering to time and cost
  • Strong communication, change management and influencing skills
  • Mastery of program/project management methodology, tools and templates (includes program/project planning, schedule development, scope management, cost management, risk management, change management and benefits realisation)
  • Track record of customer focus, based on openness, trust, and delivering on promises to deliver Business Engagement
  • Strong vendor management capability; ensuring suppliers perform in accordance with agreements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - must be able to communicate fluently in English both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organizational, planning and analytical skills
  • Strong team-working skills across matrix client, supplier and geographically dispersed teams. Demonstrated skills in leading people with not direct management line responsibility.
  • Thorough knowledge of the design, integration and support of SAP systems

  • A recognised Project Management qualification.
  • Implementation of SAP S/4 Programme, either greenfield of migration from ECC ERP.
  • Experience across packaged and bespoke systems and infrastructure, ideally on an international basis.
  • IT background with experience across the systems development life cycle with experience in all program/project phases - plan, initiate, elaborate, design, build, test, implement.
  • Business Process Management qualification (e.g., Lean belt)
  • Experience on Contract / Project based Business models and associated technologies.
  • Exposure to Retail or Hospitality industries projects, with B2B2C relationship and large, geographically disperse end users base.
  • Understanding of latest SAP technology (S/4 Hana) and methodology (ACTIVATE)
  • Track record of defining and driving process change in a complex and unstructured environment
