About Our Client and the Role

Our client is a large, established listed company headquartered in St Albans, and they are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to join their dynamic Finance team. This is an exceptional opportunity to take ownership of significant expenditure while driving strategic initiatives that directly impact the bottom line.

Their Finance team serves as a critical business partner across multiple divisions, providing expert financial insight and analysis to support business excellence and enhanced profitability. With exposure to executive leadership and responsibility for substantial investments, this role offers both challenge and genuine business impact.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be instrumental in analysing performance, supporting major strategic projects, and partnering with senior stakeholders across the organisation to drive growth and efficiency.


What You'll Do

Financial Management & Analysis:

  • Take ownership of key cost categories representing significant annual expenditure
  • Partner with multiple business divisions to track, analyse and challenge spending
  • Develop robust financial models to support strategic decision-making and business improvements

Strategic Planning & Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual Budget and long-term planning processes
  • Oversee monthly forecasting cycles and provide detailed variance analysis
  • Support cross-functional projects focused on efficiency and performance enhancement

Business Partnership & Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as primary finance business partner to senior leadership teams
  • Build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Present complex financial analysis to senior management in clear, actionable formats

Team Leadership & Process Management:

  • Provide line management and development for finance team members
  • Oversee month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and governance frameworks

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Strong academic background with proven analytical capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in business partnering with senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all levels
  • Track record of translating complex financial data into clear business insights
  • Experience managing finance processes in a complex organisation

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a listed company environment
  • Operations or supply chain finance background
  • Line management experience
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills
