Senior Finance Manager - Manufacturing Business
Northampton | Up to £75k + 10% Bonus + Benefits
Role Description
We are seeking an ambitious Senior Finance Manager to join a dynamic manufacturing business experiencing exceptional growth. This is a significant role as the number 2 in finance, running the finance department day-to-day while working closely with a talented Finance Director. You'll take ownership of all technical accounting functions whilst implementing process improvements that will scale with the business.
As the Finance Director's right-hand, you'll lead a team of 10 finance professionals, making this an ideal position for an experienced finance professional looking to step up into a critical senior role with significant responsibility for day-to-day finance operations.

Experience & Personality Requirements
Essential Experience:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical accounting knowledge
- Proven experience in year-end processes and statutory accounts preparation
- Track record of leading finance teams (minimum 10+ team members)
- Experience in month-end process improvement and financial reporting
- Manufacturing or operational business experience preferred
- Strong systems experience and process improvement mindset

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Technical Accounting & Compliance:
- Oversee year-end processes and statutory account preparation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Lead technical accounting matters and complex transactions
- Manage external audit relationships
Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Drive month-end process improvements and reporting timelines
- Produce accurate management accounts and KPI reporting
- Provide financial analysis to support business decisions
- Develop financial reporting frameworks to support growth
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10 finance professionals
- Foster high-performance culture focused on accuracy and efficiency
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with operations and sales
- Implement robust processes and controls as the business scales
Strategic Business Partnership:
- Work closely with Finance Director on strategic initiatives
- Support business growth through financial planning and analysis
- Partner with operational teams to optimise performance
- Contribute to system implementations and process transformation
