Job description

VAT Responsibilities

  • Support the procurement team in applying correct VAT codes when onboarding new suppliers.
  • Prepare monthly reverse charge reports and review invoices from overseas vendors.
  • Assist with reconciling VAT accounts against freight and shipping statements.
  • Contribute to the preparation and submission of UK VAT returns.
  • Prepare VAT-related balance sheet reconciliations.

Employee Tax Forms (P46s / P11Ds)

  • Responsible for the day-to-day preparation and filing of employee benefit and expense returns.

PSA (Pay As You Earn Settlement Agreement)

  • Prepare the annual PSA return covering taxable employee benefits.

IR35 Compliance

  • Support the process of determining contractor tax status.
  • Monitor contract renewals and changes to ensure IR35 compliance.
  • Assist with ongoing supplier reviews and ensure adherence to IR35 rules.
  • Help resolve queries from hiring managers related to contractor status.

Other Employment Tax Duties

  • Assist in reviewing and analysing employee expenses for tax compliance.
  • Respond to employment tax queries from internal teams and HMRC.
  • Support data management and reporting for employment tax purposes.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on broader tax and compliance matters.

  • Professionally qualified accountant or lawyer.
  • Proven experience working on cross-functional projects.
  • Comfortable handling and analysing large data sets.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective collaborator across finance and non-finance teams.
