Strengthening Strategic Partnerships Through Quant Recruitment Success: Banking and Finance case study
Our client’s Quant Team operates across multiple asset classes including fixed income and equities. While we had previously worked with the client in other capacities such as change and corporate functions, supporting quant and trading technology allowed us to extend our services to a new branch of the business, providing strategic support for front office and modelling quant roles.
Challenge
The team faced multiple recruitment challenges, including lengthy interview processes, role sign-off delays, and candidate attrition due to poor quality of candidate. Some roles were withdrawn due to a prolonged time to fill. There was a critical need for high-calibre candidates in specialised front office quant and trading technology positions, with pressure to identify the right talent quickly while maintaining rigorous standards.
Solution
We took a consultative and proactive approach:
Worked closely with managers to truly understand their needs and provide the right calibre of candidates through technical consultation.
Mapped the interview process to prepare candidates effectively and ensure those with the required skills progressed efficiently.
Collaborated across the entire quant function enabling a team-based approach and rapid access to the correct stakeholders when a hiring need arose.
Proactively identified hiring needs before roles formally opened, allowing us to have qualified candidates ready for immediate placement.
Results
This methodology led to the successful placement of multiple Front Office Quant Developers, who met the team’s technical and cultural requirements. The approach improved efficiency through the interview process, increased candidate quality, and strengthened trust with the client’s Quant leadership. It also positioned us as a valuable partner across a new branch of the business, establishing a repeatable, consultative recruitment model for complex quant roles.
