CHANGE MANAGER & SYSTEMS LEAD

7 MONTH INITIAL FIXED-TERM CONTRACT

£50,000-£55,000 PER ANNUM

May 2021 START

After partnering this renowned not-for-profit client over the past two years, I am delighted to be working with them again exclusively on this business-critical appointment.

As part of the optimisation programme for the organisation, they have launched Workday, HR and finance modules, in February 21. As expected with any system implementation, they have teething problems including some technical issues which require attention and engagement and support with end users. They do currently have an internal Change Manager who is managing this element.

At the same time, they have Phase 2 commencing in April 21, including implementation of the Talent, LMS and advanced compensation modules and therefore, require additional support for the stabilisation period of phase 1 and the change management element of phase 2.

The role: Change Manager (7 months FTC) Possible option to extend, to other change projects.

This role will provide expertise in change management to support the successful implementation and adoption of Workday phase 2 across the organisation. The successful candidate will support the Workday Project Manager to plan and implement appropriate change deliverables from readiness through to adoption. They will be guided and supported in approach by the change manager dealing with Phase 1. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running in the following areas:

  • Focus on impacts to end-users, people and processes​
  • Identify and build strong relationships with stakeholders​
  • Manage communications with stakeholders and engagement​
  • Act to resolve barriers to change​
  • Ensure that people are 'ready, willing and able' to adopt the changes​
  • Identify and plan communications and engagement
  • Ensure changes are embedded into BAU enabling realisation of project/change benefits​
  • Provide information on Change and Communications for Project Board reporting​

Activities

  • Review and evolve stakeholder mapping
  • Working with workstreams identify impact of change for stakeholders
  • Devise more detailed change and comms plans
  • Understand 'to be' processes
  • Identify change impact for stakeholder across all work streams
  • Set up and engage steering/reference group and host regular sessions
  • Manage stakeholder engagement
  • Create comms and engagement plan and create content for preparing for pre go-live, go live and post go live
  • Manage and update intranet pages all to reflect changes
  • Plan and help team prepare for testing phase
  • Develop user guides for testing/scripts
  • Engage super users for testing and to support roll out
  • Readiness assessment pre-go live
  • Plan and work with project team to ensure go live support in place
  • Plan and action activities to help embed change and make it stick
  • Create case studies/ success stories
  • Monitor update and adoption and put in place activities to support this
  • Regular progress reporting

Essential: Qualifications, experience and competencies:

  • Educated to at least degree level
  • Previous experience providing change management support on a large-scale technology roll out such as ERP or Financial/HR System implementation (eg Workday, Oracle or SAP)
  • Proven hands-on experience of implementing change management activities from beginning to end, including change impact assessment, stakeholder analysis, managing resistance to change and assessment of adoption, working within a team to implement change within an agreed framework, facilitation of required interventions such as team building, and defining new ways of working
  • Significant experience of supporting the delivery of change across a portfolio of projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to plan and manage stakeholders at different stages of roll out simultaneously
  • Proactive approach to drive change, with the ability to deliver through others
  • Ability to demonstrate experience working across stakeholders to remove obstacles to change and progress agenda
  • A proven ability to work with others to resolve issues swiftly and decisively whilst delivering change at pace
  • Experience of delivering change where no direct power is held and is only possible by building active support within the organisation
  • Articulate, well-organised, outcome-focused creative thinker
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to influence others and gain collaboration
  • Experience of cross-functional change communications
  • Experience of upskilling others in change management
  • A self-starter and strong team-player, and able to work effectively within a team but without close supervision

Desirable: Qualifications, experience and competencies:

  • Experience in a research/laboratory/academic environment
  • Demonstratable track record of successful large-scale end to end ERP Implementation e.g. Workday or Oracle
  • Experience of business process change approaches and techniques
