Job description

Corporate Performance and Governance Manager

Up to £54,898 per annum

Mat cover - 12 months FTC

2-3 days per week on site in London

I am delighted to be exclusively partnering with a government client that's sole purpose is to improve and regenerate a large community in London.

I am looking for a Corporate Performance and Governance Manager on a fixed term contract basis (maternity cover until September 2022) who will help define and bring my client's plans to life - monitoring their performance and ensuring they operate the highest standards of corporate governance.

This is an opportunity to take on a varied remit, working in Corporate Operations Directorate to support business planning, effective decision-making, risk management and robust project and performance management. You will help to track our delivery and improve our corporate processes and governance arrangements. Whatever the task, you'll work closely with colleagues and build strong links with the rest of the Corporation and wider stakeholders. Your role will be to manage, help develop and advise on the corporate performance, risk and governance arrangements. This will include supporting strong programme management, reporting on risk, quality assuring decision-making documents and embedding good governance across the organisation.

I am looking for individuals with a well-developed understanding of public sector governance issues and best practice in performance reporting and assurance frameworks. You will combine this knowledge with excellent communication: it's important that you can present well, express yourself and influence stakeholders. Proactive and always ready to find solutions, you'll build strong working relationships and be committed to delivering improvements within the Corporation.

Key skills required:

  1. A well-developed understanding of public sector governance issues.
  2. Highly developed skills in the analysis and interpretation of information.
  3. An ability to prepare high quality briefings and other pieces of written work.
  4. Corporate performance monitoring
  5. Experience of coordinating updates to policy and governance docs
  6. Excellent excel skills
