PERMANENT

The Opportunity

I am delighted to be partnering this Russell Group London-based University in their search for their new Head of Workplace Wellbeing.

Reporting into the Director of Workplace Health, your role will be to lead on the development of a sector leading wellbeing strategy that supports the staff community covering all aspects of mental, physical and social wellbeing.

You will also be tasked with the following:

  • To lead on development and implementation of the staff wellbeing strategy collaborating with academic, research and Professional Services colleagues
  • To engage with the organisations world leading academic community to continually develop, evolve and embed our sustainable wellbeing strategy.
  • To work with colleagues at all levels to embed wellbeing in the normal functioning of the institution.
  • To lead the Staff Mental Health and Wellbeing Steering Group, reporting into Health and Safety Committee.
  • To support the safe, effective delivery of a high quality Workplace Health service, taking a proactive role within the management team as a leader and role model supporting operational aspects of service delivery if required.
  • To lead, develop and manage the wellbeing coordinators (Team of 4/5)
  • Designing, promoting and evaluating wellbeing tools, opportunities and events to staff working in partnership with colleagues in Organisational Development; Equality, Diversity and Inclusion; HR Business Partnering.
  • To support the development of the WH clinicians in developing their skills and knowledge of wellbeing, supporting them in taking the strategy out to the business.
  • Influence thinking around wellbeing and help embed wellbeing activity across the organisation so all faculties and professional services departments have wellbeing on their SMT agendas.

Skills Required

  • Previous experience of a similar role
  • Sector experience is not essential
  • Experience of assessing wellbeing needs in the working age population, and developing strategy
  • Experience of developing cost-effective, evidence-based wellbeing services
  • Experience of monitoring the effectiveness of interventions, and creating MI
  • Experience of engage people to ensure successful outcomes
  • Experience of managing teams effectively
