Job description
Our client a public sector regulator are looking for a Senior Data Modeler to join on a contract bases.
The role will sit within the Markets Data Office team within the Financial Resilience and Controls Directorate in the Markets group. This role is critical to enabling consistent, scalable, and business aligned data structures that support analytics, reporting, and operational efficiency. You will be working on projects and updating models , the ability to create and describe conceptual models to a non- tech audience.
You will be responsible for designing and maintaining the markets-wide conceptual, logical and physical data models for the directorate general. They work with business users and subject matter experts to ensure alignment of the model with current regulatory data needs. You will also collaborate with colleagues to ensure the alignment of the Markets data model with the enterprise data model being developed for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the Markets strategic data model (conceptual) to provide a high level view of data domains, entities and their relationships, and related logical data models with detailed attributes, data relationships, and normalisation rule, ensuring alignment with business rules and objectives.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into structured data model artefacts that meet organisational needs
- Ensure conceptual and logical data models are reusable, scalable and adaptable to evolving business demands
- Partner with business stakeholders, SMEs and enterprise data architects to validate data models and incorporate feedback.
- Collaborate with technology colleagues on model implementation in the data ecosystem housing Markets data.
- Support data services created and delivered by the Markets Data Office to help Markets data users do data better.
Essential Qualifications:
- Strong experience developing conceptual data models, defining data domains, entities and their relationships.
- Strong experience of translating business users needs to structured data model artefacts.
- Demonstrable experience using data modelling tools and industry standard techniques to capture and document data artefacts.
- Demonstrable experience working successfully in cross-functional teams and collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate in technical detail on topics of data lineage, data usage, and data structures
- Preference for someone to have Erwin experience
This role is onsite 1-2 days per week in either London/Cardiff or Glasgow offices.
