Core Application Specialist

Job summary

The Core Apps Specialist is a hands-on technical role responsible for the ongoing maintenance of collaboration and productivity environment, as well as other key operational systems. You will deliver subject matter expertise of Office 365 with emphasis in migration, automation, management and support. Reporting to the Senior Technology Officer, the Core Apps Specialist has strong knowledge of Azure Active Directory, PowerApps, Power Automation, MS Teams, Sharepoint Online, single sign-on, multi-factor authentication and related technologies.

The Core Apps Specialist is also called upon using their broad technical knowledge base to assist in the migration, rollout and transition of other Cloud or SaaS based systems.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities


* Administer and support the O365 environment in all aspects including provisioning, authentication, licensing, security and policies

* Assist with data migration activities of other key operational systems driven from new and evolving business requirements e.g. care documentation (electronic health record), incident/quality management, medication administration, etc.

* Comply with all IT security and privacy policies and procedures

* Produce technical and end-user documentation, as required

* Devise and deploy new automation in the administration of the environment


Specific Skills
* Communication skills. You have strong verbal and written communication skills and understand how to share insights with stakeholders.

* Technical knowledge. You have deep technical knowledge and can show progressive development through a diverse employment history. You complement this experience with technical certifications. This knowledge also includes compliance frameworks (e.g. SOX), cybersecurity and relevant privacy legislation (GDPR).

* Customer service. You believe in delivering the highest quality of customer service possible. You have the ability to look at things through the lens of your end-users which drives you to create user-friendly tools that will be highly adopted.

* Analysis and troubleshooting skills. You know how to analyse a problem, marshal appropriate resources and generate a methodical action plan for resolving. You have a sense of urgency and always seek an expedient but effective result.


* Project management skills. You know how to work with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver findings. You have delivered enterprise scope technology projects.

* Skills updating. You are keen to stay up to date in your technical knowledge and are naturally inquisitive and curious. You learn new things quickly.
