Investigo are partnering with a well-known large retail business based in Hertfordshire. We are urgently seeking a Finance Controller, ideally from a retail environment who have managed staff in the past.


This role will lead this finance team through a period of transition and change and build and implement business as usual processes, setting the team up for success through processes and systems but also through developing the appropriate operating model.


The role is accountable for fixed assets, intangible assets, leasing and inventory for the Group with responsibility for processing and transacting for UK entities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Transacting and processing and intangible assets for the group.
  • Reconciling subledger activity to General ledger
  • Consolidating fixed and intangible asset information
  • Ownership of the appropriate accounting, schedules and analysis required for group reporting and for local subsidiary statutory reporting.
  • Operating under US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Reconciliation of leasing models to general ledger and transacting the accounting.
  • Lead and advise business on the impairment process for subsidiary statutory process and Group.
  • Liaise with audit on the technical requirements and practical requirements of impairment for the Group
  • Reconciliation of stock balances across the Group
  • Accurate accounting for inventory balances and cost of sales across the business working with production, supply chain and third-party logistics providers
  • Coordinate, advise and value the stocktakes across multiple facilities ensuring appropriate controls are in place

Key requirements

  • Qualified accountant 5-7 years post qualified experience
  • Experience of retail and multi-site environments
  • Strong team leader with excellent communication skills that can work cross functionally

Desirable requirements

  • Experience of a US listed company - SOx and US reporting requirements
  • Strong technical accounting skills
