Financial Accountant

We are currently recruiting for a sector leading organisation for an interim Financial Accountant to join their team for a 12-14 month maternity cover. The primary purpose of the role will be to support the business in delivering the statutory audit, closing out the SOX testing and completing month-end financial review.

• Own the external audit process by building strong relationships throughout the business and being the key point of contact with external auditors to ensure a timely submission of the statutory accounts.
• Review compliance with corporate policies across all UK entities. Where gaps are identified, design commercially considered controls to ensure alignment.
• Support the month end process through journal reviews and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Providing local expertise and technical support, for US GAAP, UK GAAP and IFRS matters; this will include reviewing accounting policies and writing accounting policy papers and technical support papers.

This role would suit an ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant who has trained through the audit route. The ability to liaise across numerous stakeholders and deliver to tight deadlines is essential for the role.
