Investigo are currently working with a large successful business based in South Herts to source an immediately available Group Financial Accountant. This will be for an initial period of 4 months with a strong likelihood of extension beyond. Due to yesterdays news the role is offered on a Limited company basis.

This role provides an exceptional opportunity to work within a highly profitable and successful FTSE 250 business. It requires excellent communication skills, the flexibility to approach a variety of tasks with a systematic and adaptable manner, diligence and excellent technical and systems skills.

Supporting the Group Financial Controller, the Group Finance Manager and the Group Head of Finance, this role will play a significant part in the activities of the Finance Team, including the half year report preparation and disclosures, Group consolidation, acquisition accounting and input on technical accounting developments, in addition to providing support to other activities within the Group and UK finance function. This role will have exposure to a wide variety of finance processes with responsibility to deliver within agreed timelines from the outset.

  • Group consolidation: Roll forward the Group consolidation model for half year including management of all consolidation and IFRS accounting adjustments, and updates for monthly reporting.
  • Interim report: Support the interim report drafting process for a FTSE 250 Group, including input on preparation of the Group financial statements and related notes, as well as review of other interim report sections and supporting the audit process.
  • Interim support: Assist with other aspects of the half year reporting processes, such as the review and checking of the results announcement and analysts' presentation, and preparation of supporting analysis for the CFO.
  • Dutch associate: Assist with setting out the acquisition balance sheet of Cube for the recently acquired associate in the Netherlands, and answer questions from the local auditors.
  • Acquisitions and ad hoc projects: Assist with ad hoc projects as required, such as corporate activity including M&A transactions or refinancing, along with addressing the accounting consequences of such projects.
  • Financial accounting: Assist as necessary with the accounting for leases, rent, share based payments, investment properties and fixed assets.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • ACA / ACCA qualified accountant with at least 2 to 3 years PQE
  • Experience of Group reporting and consolidation
  • Exposure to IFRS
  • Strong Excel skills and robust attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Access Dimensions would be an advantage
