Location: Northwest; hybrid with once per week expectation to go to office

Rate & Engagement: Outside IR35 - to £750 per day

Investigo are excited to be representing a Northwest based software house who are looking to engage an interim Head of Software Engineering to focus on driving and modernising a group of core applications across the business. This will involve leading a group of dispersed Agile teams (both onshore and offshore) as the business begin to grow out their UK based digital capability (currently 30 heads) and leverage better usage of technology to continue delivering best in class software product delivery.. Growth is on the 2021-22 agenda and with that comes someone to tie it all together and begin laying the foundations - in turn this could offer the right person a permanent role if the successful candidate is open to it.

Technology is Microsoft stack led utilising all of the Azure capability to offer a scalable and secure set of products to millions of customers across the UK. The role would be best engaged on a hybrid working plan; 1-2 days in Manchester per week. You'll manage the day-to-day activities of a skilled and growing engineering teams as well as contribute to the longer-term technology roadmap and strategy and some key software development projects in the next 6 months. This role will also play a large role in improving efficiency and delivery processes and technology within the business at a time where change is being adopted and implemented in a fully Agile environment.

What are we looking for?

• An experienced technology leader from a hands-on background in end-to-end Agile software development delivery processes - you will contribute at high-level product strategy, developing software, automated testing and processes for deploying high quality software;
• Ability to measure what success looks like in a high performing software engineering team with the ability to define, gather, and use key data metrics across the areas of business, product and engineering teams; ;
• Proven experience scaling Agile development teams at pace;
• Passion for transformation leadership, technology, product development, and fast paced delivery using scalable agile methodologies;
• An open and collaborative approach to integrating with teams across the business and sharing best practice;
• Experienced working with external partners (both onshore and offshore).

Any experience getting involved at a hands-on level with .Net and Azure led technology or working with Salesforce would be hugely beneficial but not essential.

This is an outside IR35 engagement with a day rate on offer of up to £750 per day. We're looking for an immediate starter to join and contribute from day one so immediately available candidates are preferred.
