Senior Commercial Controller

Investigo have been retained by a large Milton Keynes based FMCG organisation to recruit a Senior Commercial Controller, on a permanent basis.

This is a key role, supporting commercial colleagues in optimising revenues and profitability. You will business partner the sales team and account managers across retail and service sales channels. Acting as their primary business partner supporting new listings, product reformulations, pricing/tenders and promotions to help ensure that the business do the right things. This role will act as a financial specialist, but more as a commercial guide and consultant supporting the best possible outcome. There will be a need to develop new templates and tools and support ongoing training and development of business partners. The Senior Commercial Controller will also support the marketing (category management) team as they develop new product ranges, optimise raw material composition, grow sales through new production lines.

The finance team are a hardworking and supportive unit working in a fast-paced environment. To be successful in this role the candidate will need to be resilient and not afraid of the detail. There is a need to operate at different levels within the organisation to get the job done. Process re-engineering is a key component with a need for a good look at the processes that are employed and a focus on optimising output.

Key Accountabilities

• Finance partnership across sales and category teams to best support right for business decisions
• Support sales team with NPD and pricing discussions
• Support the development of pricing, promotion and customer support strategy with sales teams
• Provide tactical and strategic insight of sales and margin performance to drive short to long term margin improvement
• Support the Budget and Forecast processes for sales and margin
• Ensure accounting integrity for customer sales discounts, bonuses, over-riders and marketing costs
• Financial lead in ownership of the open book costing process with strategic customers
• Full customer profitability analysis and cost to serve for key accounts
• Commercial & financial review of existing and new customer terms
• Support for Commercial teams in managing overhead expenditure in line with latest forecasts
• Support the Credit Control process to ensure that Sales play their role to achieve Debtor Days targets

The successful Candidate will be a Professionally Qualified individual with 3-7 years PQE, and a strong commercial background and highly developed technical skills enabling them to manage the finances of the business, ensuring accurate finance management, governance, and reporting. Experience of IT and ERP systems, preferably within an international/global company environment (Microsoft Dynamics AX knowledge would be an advantage).

Our Client is offering a salary of £70,000 - £80,000 + £6,500 Car Allowance + 5% Bonus + Benefits.
