Senior Network Engineer

Investigo's major client in the Utilities sector is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer. You will be responsible for the networks supporting corporate and operational assets networks, to ensure all networks are designed, monitored, maintained and secured to the highest level to maintain availability in line with business requirements. To work closely with other engineers from within the group and with colleagues form the Asset operations team to ensure the needs of the business are met.

Key Responsbilities

• Work with the IT network engineers to support the design, operation, maintenance and security of the UK & Ireland IT networks.
• Investigate and resolve incidents and problems in regards to the IT networks.
• Provide Networking support to the IT team to help them perform their duties quickly and accurately.
• testing networks, both routinely and after modification or fault/fix
• Take ownership of activities allocated by IT Managers across a number of projects, following agreed processes and methodologies.
• Prepare and maintain documentation and designs for networks.
• Support the preparation of documents for submission to working groups, steering committees or design authorities in regards to networks.
• Communicate and build relationships with stakeholders across the business.
• adhering to established safety, security and quality standards
• providing information, advice or training to users about networks functionality
• Support projects to develop new and upgrade existing networks, to be involved in all stages of the project from inception to delivery and support.
• Keep UpToDate with new and emerging technologies to ensure the networks are operating at maximum efficiency in supporting our users and assets.

Key Skills

• 10 + years experience as a Network engineer and 5 + years in a senior networking engineer role.
• Accreditations in networking systems including Fortinet and Cisco or other network appliances
• Fortinet firewalls, Fortigate and Fortimanager.
• Knowledge of networking technologies including - WAN, LAN, NAT, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, Routing, Switching, MPLS, QOS, SNMP, ADSL, SDN, Cabling, Racking, Technical Drawing, Monitoring
• Experience in analysing (and reporting) collected data that illustrate data trends, to keep ahead of systems' limits and thresholds.
• A knowledge of ITIL practices and usage.
• Full Clean UK driving licence - as travel to other sites around the UK is a must - but only as and when required.

You will be required to attend the office 1 day a week either in London - the rest remotely.
