Job description

Investigo Executive are currently carrying out a retained search for a Global Oil & Gas Group who are looking to appoint a Group Reporting Director to lead the external group financial reporting requirements, internal management reporting and taxation reporting.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Group Reporting Director will lead a high-performing team of 10 and will be responsible for:

  • External Group Financial Reporting: quarterly financial statements to banks and other institutions, half yearly public reporting and 20-F documents
  • Ownership of the group accounting policies, including training for the broader finance function, responsibility for the design and operation of key controls over the financial reporting processes, and setting the group's financial reporting timetable
  • Internal Management Reporting: monthly reporting to management and board
  • Taxation Reporting: final calculations which make up the group taxation impacts (in accordance with US GAAP)

Key interfaces for the Group Reporting Director include the SSC Director, the Corporate Planning Director and the Regional Finance Directors to support BAU reporting and ongoing finance initiatives.

The Group Reporting Director will also be a key point of contact with the other Corporate Finance teams (Treasury, Tax, Investor Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions), Legal and Marketing.

Other stakeholders are the Executive Management, Board & Audit Committee, External and Internal Audit, and regulators.

Suitable applicants for the Group Reporting Director position will:

  • Be a Chartered Accountant with significant relevant experience, at a senior level, within large multinational, listed groups - preferably in the extractive industries
  • Have an excellent understanding of financial reporting and accounting practices and procedures in a US-listed multinational company environment.
  • Have proven experience of managing senior stakeholders, including Board members, executive management and external parties (auditors, legal counsel and regulators)
  • Have excellent leadership and people-development skills to build, motivate and align large multinational & multifunctional teams

US GAAP exposure is essential - we are unable to consider applicants without this.
