Job description

My client is a diverse and global technology organisation, they focus on providing strategic direction and leadership to leading telecommunication brands. The finance team is tightly integrated into the organisation and utilised in a range of operational and strategic roles.

The Financial Controller leads the core accounting team, acting as the subject matter expert for the interpretation of acceptable accounting treatment for new business ideas. You will need strong management skills as the team is a mix of ambitious qualified, progressive part-qualified studiers and early career stage staff.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Head a team and manage day to day activities of billing, financial accounting, collections and supplier fees.
  • Manage regional accounting compliance.
  • Provide guidance to others on new accounting treatments.
  • Recommend financial system developments which ensure controls are maintained.
  • Complete ledger control, ensuring frameworks are in place to support adherence to IFRS.
  • Prepare consolidated group statutory accounts annually and work with external auditors to lead and manage the annual group audit.
  • Identify and push actions to streamline operations and implement process efficiency's.

About you:

  • Evidence of strong team leadership, acting as a role model when leading a team.
  • Highly organised.
  • Confidence in dealing with different stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel.
