Job description

Investigo are urgently seeking a Group Financial Controller for a large well-known business in Hertfordshire. The Group FC is responsible for the accuracy of consolidated statutory reporting and month end closing. The position is responsible for the effective operation across the Group of robust internal controls related to financial reporting and adopting best practices together with driving process efficiencies through simplification.

Key Duties:

  • This role is supported by, and manages a small team within the Finance department, including the Group Financial Reporting Manager, a Technical Accountant, additional resources as required to assist with the consolidation of the Group's Annual Financial Statements and to Provide support for the accurate consolidation of monthly results including timely resolution of issues
  • Working closely with the Global Shared Service Centre to ensure reconciliations are prepared and reviewed
  • Monthly and quarterly reviews of individual country results
  • Leadership, project management and delivery of the financial statements for all global legal entities to an agreed timetable. Working closely with the country and regional controllers to deliver accurate, insightful Annual Reports prepared in accordance with relevant IFRS and local accounting standards to all relevant Board members. Provide supporting information at meetings held for review and approval
  • Support with the adoption of new or revised IFRS accounting standards
  • Work with the IT organization and Finance Transformation team to enable process improvements as part of the ERP implementation
  • Manage regional controllers, setting goals and objectives, coaching and assessing performance, developing personnel and managing budgets
  • Work with the Business Assurance team to remediate identified control deficiencies and provide training as necessary
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects as and when required

To Apply:

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
  • Minimum of 10 years' professional experience working for multinational companies with a strong commercial acumen
  • Extensive experience with ERP and associated ledger systems - Microsoft Dynamics AX would be preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of statutory reporting requirements
  • Strong technical accounting background, including in depth knowledge of IFRS and solid experience in producing financial statements
  • Experience interfacing with external auditors
