Job description
Investigo are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a PE Backed, leading AI (start-up) company in their search for a Part-Time Financial Controller for around 2/3 days per week initially. The financial controller will oversee the finances of the business as it grows, and assist in key financial tasks such as credit control, producing management accounts and arranging finance.
Main Purpose | The production of management and financial accounts; oversee financial systems, records and associated controls; Business Partnering; VAT and Tax; and ad hoc projects. |
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities | · Manage the preparation of the company's financial accounts to ensure these are presented accurately and on time · Present management with an insightful and comprehensive view of actual and forecast business performance; of emerging trends; and risks to that performance · Manage the year-end audit and production of the annual report and accounts. · Work with external accountants to develop and maintain the General Ledger and related systems, policies and procedures in the Financial Control function to ensure effective and efficient financial management · Carry out all necessary actions, including review of all financial reconciliations, to ensure that the company meets its financial obligations. · Assist in issuing invoices and work with the business to improve the invoicing process. · Perform key credit control functions to ensure invoices are paid on time. · Further develop management information to increase clarity, insights, efficiency and speed of preparation. · Drive improvement and efficiencies to support the fast growing business. · Corporate Tax and VAT Reporting along with external accounting advisor. · Review of Accounting Policy to ensure it is in line with changes to accounting standards · Liaise with external auditors and advisors · Ad-hoc special projects

Experience and Qualifications | · Qualified accountant with minimum 3 years PQE ideally with experience in working with fast growing start-up businesses. · Competent IT skills (i.e. Word and PowerPoint) and advanced Excel skills · Knowledge of Xero accounting system · Good presentation skills |
