IT Support Consultant (Virtualisation)

Initial 3 Months - 1 day per week from London office (4 days remote) - £350-£400 per day (Inside IR35)

Our Local Government client have an immediate requirement for an IT Support Consultant to join on an initial 3-month basis.

Key tasks for the IT Support Consultant

  • Support, maintain and provide technical expertise existing IT Infrastructure covering client support, data centre, data network and collaboration support
  • Cover call triage, call resolution and escalation, general support, project related work
  • Document fixes to technical issues
  • Monitor incoming queues on the IT service desk and perform initial triage
  • Provide technical expertise on escalated issues that cannot be resolved by support officers


Key experience required for the IT Support Consultant

  • Knowledge and experience working with ITIL framework
  • Build and maintenance of VDI/ RDSH infrastructure
  • Virtualisation and Hyperscaler Infrastructure (VMWare, Hyper V, Azure, AWS)
  • Building and maintenance of physical, virtual and cloud hosted servers and services (Unix & Windows) and SCCM
  • Build and maintenance of SAN/ NAS infrastructure, storage and switching (Dell component, EMC, Brocade, VSA)
  • Hyper converged infrastructure
  • Implementation and reporting on patch management
  • Disaster recovery
  • AD Management, AzureAD, GPO, ADFS, Azure ADConnect KMS
  • Sysadmin and automation scripting (PowerShell)
  • Active directory
  • Office365 management
  • Remote access
  • Network Support (LAN, Router, Firewall), Juniper, Cisco, HP, DNS
