Job description

Are you an Accounts Assistant looking for more exposure to month end? If so, please read on - this is a great opportunity to join an established finance team and start taking on more responsibility.

This private equity backed firm in London is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their finance function - it will offer exposure and development options - you can expect to be involved with:

  • Assisting the Senior Accountant with Monthly management account packs for the group companies.
  • Posting of journals including payroll, fixed assets, prepayments, intercompany, accruals etc.
  • Assisting with the monthly Balance sheet reconciliations for all GL accounts including and not limited to accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, deposits, other debtor and other creditor accounts, ready to be signed off by FC.
  • Assisting the Credit Controller with queries during busy times.
  • Working with the Billing and Revenue accountant during invoicing to ensure that there are 2 people who understand how the billing cycle works.
  • Liaison with external auditors on GL, Banking and transactional queries.
  • Daily posting of bank transactions.
  • Providing daily information on deposits and registration fees.
  • Creating Direct Debit files (monthly and termly) for collections
  • General admin tasks as opening the post daily, stationery ordering, filing and some other Ad hoc tasks as requested by the Financial Controller

Experience reuired:

  • Demonstrable experience in a previous accounting role (essential)
  • Working towards an Accounting qualification
  • JDE Experience (desirable) otherwise strong financial system experience.
  • Fully proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate with staff at all levels of the organisation with excellent telephone and email manner.
  • Great attention to detail
  • A self-starter with the drive, determination, and commitment to get things done on time and accurately.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.
  • Organised and able to plan and prioritise.
  • A good team player, flexible, able to adapt and pro-active with a positive attitude, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
