Job description

Investigo are currently partnered with a well known construction firm based in central London who are looking for a project finance manager within their building services team.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager the Finance manager will aid managerial planning and commercial decision-making. Work will include month end journals and submissions, budgeting and forecasting and any other finance related reports required by the business for the Project.

The Finance manager will have the responsibility of tracking all costs and expenditure on the Project supported by the Accounts Administrator. The Finance Accountant will ensure that any expenditure exceeding budgets, forecasts or delegated authority limits have the correct authorisations before a purchase order is raised and cost is incurred. The Finance Accountant will be required to support the Commercial Manager and the Project and Deputy Project Director(s) when presenting the Project's trading position each month to the Leadership Group.

Duties

  • Track all costs and expenditure on the Project
  • Ensure that any expenditure exceeding budgets, forecasts or delegated authority limits have the correct authorisations before a purchase order is raised and cost is incurred
  • Create month end process and reporting
  • Support the Commercial Manager and the Project and Deputy Project Director(s) when presenting the Project's trading position each month to the Leadership Group
  • Prepare reports, budgets, forecasts, commentaries and financial statements
  • Maintain and publish a finance risk register
  • Undertake financial administration and internal audits
  • Liaise with managerial staff and other colleagues
  • Control and forecast income and expenditure
  • Monitor and report on net cash position and bench-marking to tendered assumptions
  • In peak periods assisting the Accounts Administrator with the processing and passing of invoices
  • Produce and update of cash flow forecast and cash improvement plan

  • Commercial awareness, with an interest in business and an understanding of how an organisation works and manages resources

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • IT proficiency e.g MS Excel - pivot tables, data handling and manipulation
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels
