Project Manager - Operational Excellence - Lean Six Sigma - Insurance - London - 700 per day

The primary focus of this role is to support the firm's business transformation efforts to deliver value and service excellence to our clients and deliver lasting customer and business benefits.
Supporting the business transformation efforts, there are two key work-streams: embedding Operational Excellence (OpEx) across the business to build a lasting and sustainable operations management capability and driving our Workforce Location (WFL) strategy to ensure we have the right people in the right locations across the organisation.


This role is for a PM and involves the support and implementation of identified Workforce Location initiatives that deliver lasting customer and business benefits. The role will require significant interaction with both Business and Corporate support stakeholders including Real Estate, HR, Tax, Legal and Technology.

Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Support complex analysis and make recommendations about strategic solutions
  • Leverage the companies standardised methods, tools and assets to design and deliver outcomes
  • Take an active role in driving knowledge management for the function and create a strong internal business transformation learning culture
  • Identify implementation risks and barriers to adoption to develop risk mitigation strategies to optimise the success of business transformation deployments
  • Champion OpEx and WFL in the business units and work with teams to deliver continuous improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with other Divisions and operational hubs (often across different geographies) to maximise benefit realisation
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders to cement the function as a "partner of choice"
  • Drive the location, operating model, vendor and execution strategy, providing a control and operating framework for all aspects of Workforce Location within the company
  • Optimise effectiveness and drive consolidation across all WFL engagements with a consistent approach to execution
  • Sustain and enhance the targeted financial savings beyond 2018 by evolving the Hub footprint towards 'best in class' from a cost, control and effectiveness perspective
  • Ensure that additional WFL plans are executed with minimal/no disruption to the business
  • Create a collaborative environment across the company hub network breaking down silos and ensuring a continuous improvement culture is embedded across the network
  • Identify opportunities for further WFL across the businesses that are relatively mature as well as those businesses that have yet to leverage the hub network
  • Help grow capabilities within the hub network to enable higher value knowledge roles to be conducted from within the hubs
  • Ensure the WFL methodology is actively managed, used consistently and promulgated across the organisation
  • Build pipeline of WFL activity across all lines of business and drive execution


Requirements to be considered for the role

  • Experienced the Operational Excellence field
  • Strong Project Management experience gained in Insurance and consultancy (ideally big 4)
  • Lean Six Sigma qualifications and proven experience of application of these principles
  • Strong experience in process improvement
