Senior DevOps / DevOps Team Lead

My client is currently looking for a DevOps team lead to join an existing global DevOps team.

The purpose of the team is to provide applications development support; collaborate with different infrastructure, security, development and delivery functions during design, build and implementation of DevOps tooling and pipelines; provide in-depth technical multi-disciplinary expertise.

This is a role which requiring a deep understanding of all DevOps related processes, practices, technologies, methodologies and solutions.

The ideal candidate will have most of the following;

• Microsoft Windows Server and Windows clustering
• Linux Redhat/Centos family
• Microsoft Active Directory and related solutions
• Hand-on and team lead experience in infrastructure and development
• Strong understanding and experience in CI/CD tooling and practices
• Waterfall and agile delivery practices (SCRUM, Kanban)
• Software packaging, deployment
• Microsoft System Center Software (Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, Service Manager, Virtual Machine Manager, Data Protection Manager, Orchestrator
• Experience with Hypervisors
• Experience with containerisation technology (Kubernetes)
• Experience with automation using Orchestrator, PowerShell and Ansible
• Scripting (PowerShell, bash, Terraform)
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Microsoft Azure administration & pipelines
• Microsoft Azure, Office 365, ADFS, AD Connect
• Understanding of networking
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server (DBMS, SSRS and SSAS)

Experience

• Several years of experience in a similar role
• Extensive experience in Infrastructure and software engineering practices
• Exposure to infrastructure architecture and design
• Experience supporting large projects
• Experience in high pressured, fast-paced environments with multiple critical systems and multiple delivery objectives simultaneously
• Relevant experience/exposure to trading, financial or energy trading sector preferred
• Agile working experience (SCRUM)
• ITIL Knowledge
• Experience running an international team
• Hands on DevOps experience in CI/CD

Summary

• The person in this role is responsible to perform team lead activities in team, including:
• Remove any kind of obstacles between ideas and deliverables to production
• Line management for team members located in UK
• Functional management for all team members abroad
• Maintain team volumetric
• Run team meetings and ceremonies when required
• Make decisions in responsible area
• Ensure team participates in architectural forums (local and global solution review boards) and in portfolio meetings (project control board)
• Provide training to interested people, groups and functions regarding DevOps practices and processes
• Promote culture of continuous delivery
• Respect objectives and deadlines for infrastructure, non-production and production environments changes, CI/CD pipelines adaptation
• Ensure delivery of project, continuous improvements and business as usual activities
• Ensure technological excellence and right tooling for activities related to automation of production cycles
• Perform review of escalations from team and stakeholders
• Responsibility for non-production environments, integrations, development and delivery tooling
• Ensuring high standards of delivery, which are automated and standardised
• Break fix of any escalations within agreed SLAs
