Technical Solutions Architect - AWS

Location & Duration: Remote, with weekly visits (1 day per week) to Leicester - 6 months

Rate & Engagement: Outside IR35 - to £650 per day

Investigo are partnered with a n industry leading benefit provider and software house in the Midlands who are looking to engage a Solutions Architect Consultant to aid in a critical cloud transformation project. We are looking for an Architect with a strong hands-on development background and a recent, heavy involvement working with AWS. You'll get the opportunity to guide them in best of tech, build, process, etc. This role will work on a project outside of BAU and we have confirmed this role is outside IR35 - you'll join a group of consultants on this build who will be doing the majority of heavy lifting on the core platform that services with thousands of customers per day.

We're looking for someone to:

• Develop new techniques for use in solution and technical architecture whilst promoting the solution architecture discipline within the wider development community.
• Drive development of platform and product roadmaps to meet the current and future business use cases.
• Ensure solution designs and technical delivery conforms to the platform vision and outcomes.
• Support the approval of the solution architecture and technical design through relevant governance processes

With experience in:

• AWS Microservices migration.
• Hands-on software development previously, ideally in Open-source technologies.
• Moving away from legacy systems using As Is and To Be documentation for recommendations.
• Identifying and exploiting the re-use of any components, patterns, techniques, and document these for re-use by other projects.
• Establishing proof of concepts in innovation and make recommendations on technology adoption.
• Developing an evolving and balanced solution architecture for projects, addressing business function needs and achieving alignment with known business function priorities and roadmaps, enterprise architecture principles, standards and governance process agreeing design changes and pragmatic trade-offs.
• Experienced working in a TDD environment and small but effective Agile teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Any experience working on true greenfield application builds from day one would be hugely beneficial.

This is an outside IR35 engagement with a day rate on offer of up to £650 per day. Initial contract duration will be 6-months. The process will be submissions no later than Monday 15th August with interviews to take place immediately - therefore an immediate start is preferred. The successful consultant will ideally be able to travel to their Leicester HQ (1 day per week) for the duration of the contract.
