Having worked the Head of Recruitment & Talent previously, I am delighted that they have engaged me once again on an exclusive basis to help them to support them with this important and really fun hire, as they recruit their new Recruitment Marketing Manager on a permanent basis.

The Recruitment Marketing Manager, reporting into the Recruitment Business Manager is responsible for ensuring the organisation can attract the best talent in the marketplace, whilst delivering value for money. This role will strategically plan the council's marketing plan for the attraction of talent as well and operationally deliver attraction campaigns. The Recruitment Marketing Manager will position the council as an employer of choice and build an effective, blended attraction strategy in partnership with our media provider.

The role will seek to lessen the utilisation of recruitment agencies, building direct talent pipelines for the organisation.

Main responsibilities

  • Plan and implement a recruitment marketing and employer branding strategy to attract high-quality applicants.
  • Position the organisation as an employer of choice in the market, attracting quality applications across all sectors without the use of recruitment agencies.
  • Gain organisational buy in across all directorates on attraction and branding strategies, understanding the individual needs of business services
  • Plan and manage recruitment media campaigns and newsletters
  • Create and publish engaging videos to attract candidates to the role
  • Schedule social media plans across the year including national events e.g. World Social Work day
  • Build and curate the talent pool and the approach to talent pooling to ensure talent segregation and communication that is bespoke to sector needs.
  • Build and deliver campaign style approaches to meet the needs of business requirements where multiple hires are requested.
  • Lead on the development and build of the organisation's career site and hold responsibility for all local content management.
  • Support managers to create engaging job descriptions
  • Identify the tactics and platforms that will be most effective in reaching a specified target audience
  • Track, measure, and report on all attraction methods, ensuring future investments are data led.
  • Monitor Glassdoor and other social media platforms to engage with reviewers of the organisation
  • Design, plan and deliver recruiting events such as job fairs to attract candidates to join our organisation
  • Create monthly reports to analyse the success of the marketing methods used to attract candidates to the council.
  • Work closely with Strategic HR Business Partners department to develop creative ways for addressing recruitment challenges
  • Keep abreast of new trends in social media channels
  • Build effective relationships with external providers for example Linkedin, Training providers, Recruitment agencies etc
